Active Ingredients Per 3 Vegecaps
Triple Amino Factors 1202mg (L-Ornithine Monohydrochloride, L-Citrulline, L-Cystine) and Turmeric Extract (95% Curcuminoids) 60mg
Daily dose
General liver protection: 3 vegecaps daily
Protect against alcohol damage or reduce hangover symptoms: 3 vegecaps before or after consuming alcohol
Note:
As the body metabolises alcohol, acetaldehyde, the first byproduct is produced, it is estimated to be between 10 and 30 times more toxic than alcohol itself. Build-up of acetaldehyde can contribute to hangover symptoms, including nausea, vomiting, sweating and skin flushing. The active ingredients of Ultimate Liver Care (Turmeric & Ornithine) were found to be effective in lowering blood alcohol and acetaldehyde after drinking, which subsequently helps to reduce hangovers.
Lower Blood Alcohol Content After Drinking
Lower Blood Acetaldehyde Content After Drinking
3 easy steps to minimise hangover symptoms!
1. Avoid drinking alcohol on an empty stomach as it can be absorbed by the body quickly, causing you to get drunk easily. Consider eating some meat before drinks as fats in the meat help to protect the stomach lining.
2. Avoid drinking cold drinks, lemonade or other stimulative drinks together with alcoholic beverages.
3. Many of our Japanese customers have feedback on the effectiveness of AFC Ultimate Liver Care in relieving hangover symptoms. They take 3 capsules before drinks to minimise the impact of alcohol and 3 capsules after to minimise hangover discomfort.

Support healthy liver function
Alanine transaminase (ALT), aspartate transaminase (AST) and gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT) are liver enzymes that are commonly tested in liver function tests. Elevated of these liver enzymes could be a sign of liver disease, most common are non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and alcoholic liver disease. ALT helps convert proteins into energy for the liver cells, while AST helps metabolise amino acids. When the liver health is compromised, ALT, AST and GGT are released into the bloodstream, leading to high levels in the blood.
Study 1:
In this test, 6-week-old male rats (nonalcoholic fatty liver disease model) were administered for L-citrulline (L-cit) or water (control) by gavage for 9 weeks and the effects on blood and body weight were determined. L-cit administration reduced elevated blood AST and ALT levels, liver cholesterol and triglyceride levels, as well as body weight. These findings suggest the beneficial effects of L-cit in activating lipid metabolism, whereby suppressing hepatic fat accumulation and body weight gain.
Study 2:
In this clinical trial, patients with NAFLD were randomly administered turmeric (2 g/day) or placebo for 8 weeks and the changes of lipid profiles and malondialdehyde (MDA, an indication of liver damage) were determined before and after the study period and compared between the two groups. Turmeric administration showed a significant reduction in AST, ALT and GGT liver enzymes, compared to placebo. Compared to baseline, there were significant decrease in serum levels of triglycerides, LDL and MDA in turmeric group, but there was no significant change in placebo group (p < 0.05). These findings suggest that turmeric supplementation could be an effective approach in improving liver function and managing NALFD.
Mitigate inflammation in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD)
NAFLD refers to a range of conditions which are caused by excess fat build-up in the liver that are not caused by heavy alcohol use. It is a major health problem in developed countries. Accumulating evidence suggests that NAFLD is strongly related to inflammation. Chronic liver inflammation could lead to liver fibrosis and cirrhosis (advanced scarring). Curcumin, an active ingredient in turmeric that has powerful anti-inflammatory properties may help mitigate liver inflammation.
Study 1:
In this clinical trial, 50 NAFLD patients were orally administered 2 g/day citrulline or placebo for 3 months. Compared to placebo group, citrulline group showed significant reduction of inflammatory markers, which are serum high-sensitive C-reactive protein and activity of nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB). These findings suggest that citrulline helps improve inflammatory markers in patients with NAFLD.
Study 2:
In this clinical trial, 50 patients with NAFLD with lifestyle modification were orally administered 1500 mg curcumin or placebo for 12 weeks. Compared to baseline, curcumin supplementation was associated with a significant decrease in liver fibrosis and nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) activity, which regulates inflammatory responses. These findings suggest the beneficial effects of lifestyle modification plus curcumin administration in mitigating inflammation in NAFLD.
Alleviate alcohol-related hangover symptoms
A hangover refers to the experience of unpleasant symptoms that usually occur following the consumption of excessive alcohol, such as wine and beer. Among the typical hangover symptoms are fatigue, headache, thirst, fatigue, vertigo, nausea, or irritability. Mild dehydration, disrupted sleep, gastrointestinal irritation and exposure to acetaldehyde (primary product from alcohol metabolism) could be the causes of hangover symptoms.
In this clinical trial, 19 healthy males who had to have experience of hangover and/or headache were orally administered placebo or L-cysteine. During 3-hour period, alcohol was consumed at the dosage of 1.5 g/kg. Correlational analysis demonstrated that L-cysteine at the dosage of 1200 mg helps prevent or alleviate hangover, nausea and headache, while L-cysteine at the dosage of 600 mg helps alleviate stress and anxiety. These findings suggests that L-cysteine helps reduce the need of drinking the following day with no or less hangover symptoms, as well as reducing the risk of alcohol addiction.

The liver is a highly resilient organ. In most cases, damages to the liver remain unchecked until it is in an advanced stage. Therefore it is extremely important to take charge early with regards to your health and lifestyle choices.
1. This is the state where liver function is at its best.
2. Fatty Liver Disease is the build-up of fats in the liver, leading to liver enlargement and inflammation. There are 2 types of known Fatty Liver disease:
• Alcoholic Fatty Liver: Commonly due to excessive alcohol consumption
• Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver (NAFLD): Often associated with a high fat diet, obesity and high cholesterol levels.
3. Liver Fibrosis occurs when an inflammed liver is left untreated, causing the injured liver tissues to not be able to function properly.
4. Cirrhosis is an irreversible stage in which the liver is seriously damaged forming with permanent scartissues and is no longer able to heal itself. This may eventually lead to liver failure.
Fatty Liver Disease, often referred to as the "silent killer" due to its lack of noticeable symptoms, occurs when the liver becomes congested with fat and toxins. This accumulation of excessive fat in the liver can result in inflammation and damage to liver cells.
As a consequence, liver enzymes such as alanine transaminase (ALT) and aspartate transaminase (AST) may be released into the bloodstream at higher levels than normal. Elevated levels of these enzymes in blood tests serve as indicators of liver damage or disease.
Studies have shown that Fatty Liver Disease affects approximately 15% of the population in Asia, with over 50% of individuals with diabetes being affected (Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, 2013).
Monitoring liver enzyme levels is vital for early detection and intervention in cases of Fatty Liver Disease. If left untreated, this condition can progress to more severe liver conditions, including liver fibrosis or cirrhosis.
