Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) affects one in ten people in Singapore. This disorder affects the colon and causes lots of discomfort and pain. It is often triggered by stress, depression or anxiety. Individuals might suffer from the following symptoms:

- Constipation and/or diarrhoea \t
- Bloated \t
- Symptoms usually, but not always, occur soon after eating or drinking \t
- Abnormal bowel movements \t
- Stomach flatulence \t
- Stomach pain or cramps \t
- Changes in the texture of stools \t
- Finding mucus in stools \t
- Feel that you have not completely emptied your bowels after bowel movements
