How the bioactive peptides of FlexC CARE are developed
Using serial hydrolytic fermentation technology, bioactive proteins are produced and secreted in large quantities using high-performance food-grade microorganism. The proteins are then hydrolysed to yield Bioactive Peptides via site-directed hydrolysis process. This is followed by proprietary purification technology that isolates highly concentrated peptides. Since the molecules are small and can be absorbed easily, only a small amount of serum is needed to exert maximal efficacy.

Direction for use:
Gently massage a small amount onto the affected area, once or twice daily. Apply 1-2 hours after a shower. Do not use on face.

Step 1: Ensure the right dosage required
The first time you use FlexC CARE serum, estimate the amount of serum you need to squeeze out of the bottle:
1. For a knee, shoulder or hip, squeeze a line as long as your index finger.
2. For an ankle, wrist or the fingers on one hand, squeeze a line as long as half of your index finger.

Evenly cover the soft tissue at the front and the back of the joint (do not apply to the knee cap)

It is important use the appropriate dose for the specific joint you are treating.
• You must allow the FlexC CARE serum to dry for at least 10 minutes, or until the skin is touch dry before covering the area.
• If the serum takes longer than 10 minutes to dry, you have probably applied too much. The excess can be wiped off and you should try using a smaller amount next time.
• If the serum takes less than 10 minutes to dry, you should apply slightly more the next time.

Step 2: Reduce the application time
Once you have worked out the right amount of FlexC CARE serum required for your specific joints, you can reduce the serum drying time by:
• Warming the skin before applying the serum
• After applying the serum, use a hairdryer on a medium setting to blow dry. This should reduce the drying time to about 2 minutes

For those who exercise: Apply a thin layer of serum to thigh and calf before exercise. Apply again after exercise. The aroma of fresh mint makes you feel more comfortable and soothing after exercise.

Caution: For external use only. Do not apply on open wounds or damaged skin. Discontinue use and seek advice from your physician if any adverse reactions such as allergic reaction or severe irritation arises. Avoid contact with eyes or other sensitive areas. Should the product get into eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.

If you are pregnant or nursing, please consult your physician prior to using this product.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry place at room temperature, away from heat, direct sunlight and moisture. Use within 3 months of opening. Keep out of reach of children.

Q. What is FlexC CARE?
A. FlexC CARE is a transdermal drug-free serum which is primarily made up of 2 proprietary Bioactive Peptides – Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 and Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4. Developed using proprietary fermentation and purification technology, the high purity and concentration peptides penetrate the skin and permeate into the target tissues for therapeutic and rejuvenating effects. These unique peptides help support healthy inflammatory response, repair and rebuild cartilage, tendons, ligaments and muscles that are strained or injured. This topical serum can easily be applied for the knees, hips, shoulders and heel region. Non-greasy and non-sticky, it is suitable for all types of skin.

Q. What makes FlexC CARE serum stand out from other joint creams?
A. FlexC CARE serum contains a high concentration of proprietary Bioactive Peptides. This is an anti-inflammatory agent which stimulates the production of extracellular matrix (ECM), aiding to repair, rebuild and nourish joint structures and muscles. The formula also contains Mentha Arvensis (Hakka Yu), a herb that is well-known for its natural pain relieving and anti-inflammatory properties. Penetrating deeper into the skin to reach the target tissues, FlexC CARE merges the best of science and nature to provide fast pain relief, long-lasting comfort and rejuvenating effects, so that you can get on with your day. Most users felt its soothing effects within hours of application. Recurrence is highly unlikely if FlexC CARE serum is continually applied as maintenance. Bioactive Peptides are unique and can hardly be found in other cream, gel or serum products available in the market.

Q. Why is FlexC CARE is not made for oral intake?
A. The primary active ingredients in FlexC CARE is peptides. If these peptides are taken orally, the protease enzymes in the gastrointestinal tract can degrade it before circulation is possible. This results in poor bioavailability and ultimately, only a very limited portion of peptides can reach the affected areas to exercise its beneficial effects. On the contrary, topical administration enables peptides to permeate the skin, directly reaching the affected joints and muscles, thereby eliciting local effects at the site of application, maximising the potency of FlexC CARE.

Q. Can I apply FlexC CARE serum while consuming joint supplements orally?
A. Yes, you are encouraged to do so. The unique Bioactive Peptides is only present in FlexC CARE and works as a perfect complement to oral joint supplements, such as FlexC MAX, FlexC PRO, Joint Sensei Supreme and SCP Cartilage Sensei Supreme. Each ingredient serves different purposes and their combined use offers a synergistic effect to restore optimal joint function, promoting a quicker recovery time.

Q. FlexC series has 3 products – FlexC CARE, FlexC MAX and FlexC PRO. What is the difference?
A. FlexC CARE, FlexC MAX and FlexC PRO are intended to promote improved joint health. Refer to table below for comparison:

FlexC CARE and FlexC MAX have a natural plant based formula, suitable for vegetarians who desire to improve their joint health. For non-vegetarians, FlexC MAX and FlexC PRO are great complement with FlexC CARE, working synergistically to deliver maximum benefits to joint structure, health and function.

Q. I have been suffering from chronic joint pain in the past one month, can I apply FlexC CARE serum?
A. Yes, you can. FlexC CARE helps reduce joint pain and support natural recovery of cartilage, tendons, ligaments and muscles. You may feel the relief within few hours of application. It is highly recommended to complement FlexC CARE with FlexC MAX, which is a vegetarian formula made up of patented herbal extracts and MSM which targets the root cause of joint discomfort. For non-vegetarians, FlexC CARE can also be complemented with FlexC PRO, which is an oral supplement comprising of proprietary collagen, MSM and calcium. This multi-functional formula helps support and strengthen body structure, including joints, muscles and bones.

A. Several tests have shown that Bioactive Peptides in FlexC CARE helps support healthy inflammatory response and promote production of extracellular matrix, which is associated with joint tissue repair and regeneration.

Q. How should I apply FlexC CARE serum?
A. Gently massage a small amount onto affected area until fully absorbed. It is recommended to use FlexC CARE serum twice a day (once in the morning and once in the evening) for best results. Nonetheless, you can apply repeatedly during the day if you think there is a need. After shower, please allow 1 – 2 hours to pass before applying. As FlexC CARE serum has high concentration of active ingredients with superior potency, dispense an amount equivalent to the length of your index finger is sufficient for a knee, shoulder or hip. For the ankle, wrist or the fingers, dispense an amount equivalent to half the length of your index finger will be sufficient. Product should not be applied on the face.

Q. Are there any side effects associated with using FlexC CARE serum?
A. There are no serious side effects associated with the use of FlexC CARE serum. Whilst highly unlikely, FlexC CARE can cause skin irritations such as erythema (skin redness), dry skin or rash – intensity ranging between mild to moderate levels. These effects are transient and will fade naturally over time, thus not requiring further treatment. In the event of allergy reactions, serious irritation or other side effects, please discontinue use immediately and seek advice from your physician. FlexC CARE has no known interactions with medicines.

Q. Can I use FlexC Care serum alongside with painkillers or other oral medicines?
A. Yes, you can. FlexC CARE is a drug-free serum and can safely be applied for those taking painkillers. Painkillers work by reducing inflammation but does not help repair joint structures. Hence, FlexC CARE serum is a good complement which aids to restore healthy joints quickly. Since FlexC CARE does not contain any pharmaceutical compounds, it will not interact with your oral medicine. Nonetheless, please consult a physician if you have any pre-existing health concerns.

Q. Can I use FlexC CARE for long-term?
A. Yes, you are advised to do so. Daily walking, moving, exercise or sports will eventually take a toll on the joints and muscles. Thus, joint repair and restoration should be an ongoing process. FlexC CARE serum helps speed up the process, preventing further damage to joints and muscles.

Q. Who can use FlexC CARE serum?
A. FlexC CARE is recommended to those suffering from joint discomfort, such as joint pain, stiffness, swelling or have limited range of motion. FlexC CARE is also suitable for anyone who has muscle pain, strain, cramps or is suffering from a sports injury. FlexC CARE helps regenerate cartilage and muscle loss from everyday wear and tear. It is particularly recommended for those who are physically active (jog, hike or participate in sports), middle-aged or elderly adults, individuals who are overweight or have a history of physical injuries. People with physically demanding jobs that require standing for long durations, wearing high heels daily or require repeated lifting and bending are at higher risk for joint injuries.

Q. Can I use body lotion after applying FlexC CARE serum?
A. Yes, you can. Please ensure that FlexC CARE serum is completely absorbed into the skin before applying your body lotion. Otherwise, body lotion may reduce the efficacy of FlexC CARE.

Q. Does FlexC Care serum come in a different size?
A. Yes, FlexC CARE currently comes in 2 sizes – 10 ml and 30 ml. Both are fitted with a convenient pump head. It is recommended to finish the product within 3 months of opening.

Research-proven Benefits of the Bioactive Peptides in FlexC CARE

1) Support healthy inflammatory response

Swollen joint is one clinical feature of osteoarthritis (OA), attributed to local inflammation and thickening of synovium.

A membrane called the synovium produces a thick fluid that helps keep the cartilage healthy. The synovium can become inflamed and thickened when there is wear-and-tear on the cartilage. Inflammation causes more fluid to be produced within the joint, resulting in swelling and possibly the development of OA.

In this test, Bioactive Peptides were shown to suppress LPS-induced inflammatory response, as indicated by a reduced level of nitric oxide concentration (an inflammatory marker).

 2) Promote production of extracellular matrix (ECM) for repair and regeneration

The extracellular matrix (ECM) consists of collagen, fibronectin, hyaluronic acid and other components which play a vital role in tissue repair and regeneration.

a) Procollagen:
Procollagen is precursor of collagen synthesised by fibroblasts and other cells in the process of collagen synthesis. In this test, Bioactive Peptides had shown to increase synthesis of procollagen by human fibroblast.

b) Type I collagen:
Tendons and ligaments contain predominantly collagen, mostly type I to provide robust mechanical strength. Boosting collagen synthesis by fibroblast cells could potentially treat an injured tendon or ligament.

Bioactive Peptides were shown to increase type I collagen (stained brown in the diagram below) synthesis in tendon cells. The cells treated with Bioactive Peptides showed a deeper brown which indicate increased levels of type I collagen.

c) Type II collagen:
Type II collagen is a major protein in joint cartilage, the smooth, white connective tissue that covers the ends of bones as they come together to form a joint. It is believed to contribute most to tensile behaviour of the cartilage tissue.

Bioactive Peptides were shown to promote synthesis of type II collagen in human cartilage cells.

d) Fibronectin:
Fibronectin production appears to be an important part of cartilage, tendon, ligament and muscle healing process. In this test, Bioactive Peptides were shown to increase synthesis of fibronectin by human fibroblast.

e) Extracellular matrix (ECM):
In this clinical trial, healthy human volunteers were treated with 50ppm of Bioactive Peptides for 60 days on their buttock skin. Biopsies were taken for immunohistochemical assessment of procollagen I, hyaluronic acid and fibronectin. After 60 days, tissue staining showed a significant increase in the amount of subcutaneous collagen, hyaluronic acid and fibronectin.

In conclusion, Bioactive Peptides stimulate the synthesis of procollagen, hyaluronic acid and fibronectin, collectively known as ECM in human body.

3) Repair damaged joints
Connective tissues such as cartilage, tendons and ligaments in the joints are mostly composed of extracellular matrix (ECM). TGF-1 (a type of gene) is a well-known stimulator of ECM biosynthesis.
In this study, Bioactive Peptides were shown to synergise with TGF-1 to increase ECM biosynthesis.

About 350 million people worldwide suffer from joint disorder. The causes of pain include joint degeneration (a sign of ageing), inflammation, injury or just simply wear and tear from years of walking and running.
Besides the joints, muscle ache or cramp is another form of discomfort which can develop in almost all parts of the body. Muscle aches are commonly caused by stress and tension, overstrain or minor injuries sustained during exercise or physically demanding tasks.

Maintaining flexible joints and healthy mucles are vital for pain-free movement and mobility.

A joint is the connection between bones in the body, made up of five tissues: bones, cartilage, tendons, ligaments, synovium and synovial fluid. Injury or damage to any of these tissues will lead to joint discomfort such as pain, stiffness, swelling or a grinding sensation between the joints.

Years of walking, moving and exercising can take a toll on the joints and muscles, resulting in pain, stiffness and limited range of movement. Day-to-day activities such as bending over to tie a shoe lace, rising from a chair or taking a short walk may become a difficult and impact the quality of life. Hence, healthy joints and muscles are imperative for maintaining joint flexibility and mobility.

1) Cartilage loss and bone erosion – can be caused by ageing, years of walking and sports

2) Tendon injury /degeneration – can be caused by ageing, repetitive overuse or overstretching during sports or daily activities. E.g. golfing and shovelling.

3) Ligament injury / degeneration – can be caused by sharp change in direction, wrong landing from a jump or a blunt force on the knee. E.g. a football tackle.

4) Inflammation of the synovial membrane – can be caused by overuse of joint, history of trauma or injury, or abnormal immune response.

Inflammation could lead to thickened tissue, increased blood flow to the area and increased fluid production, resulting in joint pain, tenderness & swelling

Muscle discomfort due to muscle injury is common, symptoms include pain, weakness, bruising, swelling, spasms and cramps.

  1. Injury from overuse – common among athletes playing competitive sports such as hockey, football, soccer, boxing
  2. Repetitive motion injury – common among data entry typists or heavy manual labourers working on routine tasks
  3. Muscle strains, pulls or tears – can be caused by accident, falls, sudden twisting motions and athletic activities
  4. Improper warm up and cool down – common cause of muscle strains among athletes
  5. Poor posture – unnatural body positions place strain on muscles, e.g. leaning on one leg, slouching in a chair, wearing high heels etc.

The First-Ever Bioactive Peptide Serum!

FlexC CARE Transdermal Bioactive Peptide Serum is the ‘must-have’ joint and muscle care for active and pain-free mobility. It is formulated with bioactive tetrapeptides and pentapeptides* which are developed with fermentation, hydrolysis and proprietary purification technologies to produce concentrated yet micro-molecular peptides that penetrate deeply and rapidly through the skin to effect relief to the affected areas.

*tetrapeptide is a protein peptide consisting of four amino acids and pentapeptide with five amino acids

What are Bioactive Peptides?
Bioactive Peptides are short chains of amino acids which send signals to targeted cells in the joints (e.g. cartilage cells, tendon cells) to stimulate the production of extracellular matrix (ECM) (e.g. collagen) and growth factor, both of which are important for the regeneration and repair of the joint tissues.

This scientific breakthrough formulation stimulates synthesis of extracellular matrix (ECM), including Type I & II collagens, fibronectin and growth factors, which are crucial for supporting healthy joint structures and muscles. In addition, the bioactive peptides of FlexC CARE also possess anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects to support self-repair of the joints and muscles as well as support skin health by boosting skin vitality and metabolism.

In serum form, it spreads easily and effectively. A smalldrop goes a long way.
