Mineral oil is an ingredient used in most eye makeup removers as a moisturizer. Petrolatum, paraffin or paraffin oil and propylene glycol are commonly used mineral oil in cosmetics. Studies and tests show mineral oil is an ingredient that dries skin, clogs pores, and prevents skin from breathing and excreting toxins. In addition, the National Library of Medicine Haz-Map reports that mineral oil is a possible human immune system toxicant. Learning more about what goes into your skincare can help you make better decisions for beauty.
